Your Golden Life is Constant Work
I recently learned of Phil Stutz’s three unavoidable realities: pain, uncertainty and constant work. Stutz says those that accept these realities are better equipped to take on their lives, and are happier for it.
Suddenly, it hit me - The pursuit of your Golden Life is constant work! Let’s dive in.
Goals - Pursuing your Golden Life means pursuing goals. Setting them, achieving them and then progressing to set new ones. It’s constant work being in pursuit of your goals.
Routines/Habits - Pursuing your Golden Life means putting routines in place to achieve your goals. These routines guarantee the recurrence of good habits, such as brushing your teeth, drinking water, moving your body, eating whole foods, etc. It’s constant work to create and maintain these routines.
Doing the work/Vulnerability - Then there are goals that call for a different flavor of constant work. These goals call for routines or habits that lead to uncomfortability or vulnerability. Like walking into a gym for the first time, that is so scary! It is constant work to push outside your comfort zone.
Overcoming obstacles/Setbacks - So you have routines in place, trending you towards your goals and all is right in the world. Then, boom! Obstacle - something happens that calls for more constant work.
Your Golden Life takes much more than one hour each day, it is constant work! You got this! Your GLP coaches and community are here to support you through it.
