Core & Pelvic Floor Workshop

*GLP Members Only*

Join us for a practical, hands-on workshop designed and led by Dr. Leshelle of Rooted Physiotherapy and your GLP Head Coach Kari, to help you understand, connect with, and properly recruit your core and pelvic floor, especially during heavy lifts.

If you’ve ever felt unsure about how to hold tension in your core or are curious how to lift heavier without creating pressure or discomfort, this session is for you.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • How the core + pelvic floor actually work, and how they support strength, stability, and power

  • What optimal recruitment looks and feels like during squats, deadlifts, overhead movements, and more

  • How to coordinate breath, bracing, and pelvic floor engagement since your pelvic floor is inseparable from the rest of your body.

  • Common dysfunction patterns (bearing down, over-tightening, breath holding) and if/when to seek treatment.

  • Practical application under load—we’ll practice strategies you can start using immediately in your training at GLP!

The first half of the workshop will be an interactive talk. In the second half of the workshop, you will get moving and perform some of the typical lifts that you do as part of your workout here at The GLP. Dr. Leshelle will be there to perform movement analysis, answer any questions, and provide guidance on adjustments that could be made to improve your pelvic health.

This workshop is open to anybody who has a pelvic floor - this includes men, and women who have not had children. Even if you don’t have pelvic floor symptoms you can still benefit from understanding this central area of your body!

Cost: $30
Space is limited to 8 GLP members.
